How is Flagg so revolutionary?

At 6 foot 9, 195 pounds, Flagg is built to play basketball. Flagg led Monteverde Academy, arguably the greatest and most storied high school athletics program of all time, to a 34-0 season, and winning the Chipotle Nationals Title (the national championship for high school). Flagg is a McDonalds All American, and 2024 Naismith National High School Player of the Year. In his senior year, Flagg averaged 16.5 PPG (in one of the hardest high school conferences), 7.5 RPG, and 55.1% from the floor.

Did Flagg reclass?

Yes, Cooper Flagg reclassed from the class of 2025 to 2024. He did this because he is eligible for reclassification, and if he stayed in the class of 2025, he would be the #2 prospect, only behind Cameron Boozer, meaning Flagg became the #1 prospect for 2024 as he made his decision.

Why did Flagg pick Duke over UConn or Kansas?

Flagg stated in an interview with SLAM,

And [I knew then] I wanted to go to Duke and that’s where I wanted to play college basketball. What went into the decision, I mean, I was just looking for a coaching staff I was really comfortable with, but [also] a coach and staff that was really going to hold me accountable.

In that same interview, Flagg told Duke fans to “get ready” for this upcoming fall.

Does Flagg’s parents have a history in basketball?

Yes, both parents do. Flagg’s mother played college basketball at the University of Maine, and his father played basketball at a Maine community college.

Has Flagg been selected for any pro team?

Yes, Flagg has played for the USA Under-17 team at the basketball World Cup. He was named into the All-American Team after averaging 9.3 PPG and 10 RPG. Flagg became the youngest to ever win a USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year. He was also named to the USA Select Team in preparation for the Olympics.

Flagg will lead Duke to success this fall.
